Module summary
Consultant paediatrician Dr Ashley Reece answers GP Dr Sara Ritchie’s questions on red flags, the recent NICE guideline on GORD in children and when to suspect overfeeding.
Learning objectives

This module will update your knowledge on how to treat infant feeding problems, including:

  • What ‘red flags’ should make GPs suspect a case of GORD
  • How to manage cow's milk protein intolerance
  • What to do in cases of overt regurgitation with persistent faltering growth
  • When to suspect overfeeding.

Dr Ashley Reece is a consultant paediatrician at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Spire Bushey Hospital. He has co-edited a book called ‘Clinical Cases in Paediatrics’, each chapter detailing assessment and management of common paediatric presentations, beginning with the GP referral letter, published in the UK by JP Medical.


Dr Sara Ritchie is a GP in Stoke Newington, north London.
